BETTY (NORMA ELIZABETH) GREYEYES On October 4, 2001, Betty Greyeyes, aged 68 years, of Winnipeg, MB, formerly of Petersfield, MB, passed on to be with her Creator and her deeply cherished loved ones. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Norbert and Nancy Greyeyes; five brothers, four sisters and numerous other extended family members. To carry her memory in honour, Betty is survived by three sisters, Myrna (Eugene) Tetreault, Gerry von Ramin, Linda Winoski; and sister-in-law Ina Greyeyes. She is also survived by nine nieces, five nephews, special niece Denise Greyeyes, eight grand-nieces and numerous relatives, all descendants of St. Peters Band, Netley Creek, MB. Betty attended Indian residential school, dearly loved and cared for many, many children including a foster son Norman and her nephew David. Betty became a soldier of the Salvation Army, Harbour Light Corp and enjoyed her work and friends at Community Venture. Her life was a special gift to those who truly came to know her. True to her undiminished sense of wonder and spirit of generosity, Bettys last words were: Im wearing a red rose, red roses, here have one." Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. also in the chapel with Major Peter Easton, Weetamah Corp, officiating, organist Mr. Brian Orvis, and soloist Gordon Mayer. Pallbearers will be David McRae, Trevor, Marlin and Vincent Greyeyes, Alex Moar and Ryan Taylor. Thank you to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge, and to especially those who personally and freely gave of themselves to be present for Betty.
