Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINA MINNIE MacKENZIE (nee BLACK) Minnie passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on October 4, 2001 with her family at her side. Minnie was born on July 28, 1926 in Winnipeg. She worked at Sears Polo Park for 14 years on the telephones and in the Data Processing Office. For many years she supported the blind and the crippled in Africa and the poor in Slavic countries, as well as many charities for the poor in Winnipeg. Surviving are one son James (Joan) two daughters, Carol (Dan) OCallaghan and Donna MacKenzie; three grandchildren, Scott (Claudia) MacKenzie, Marla (Phil) Kniesel and Tara (Mike) Fehr; one sister Eileen (Nelson) Shodine and sister-in-law Gladys Black as well as her extended family, Abdul, Leni, Ismael and Jibril Hussein. She was predeceased by her daughter Joyce in 1951 and her brother Norman Black in 1972. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission, 320 Princess St., Winnipeg or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg.
