Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES EDWARD STEPHEN It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of James Edward Stephen at Seven Oaks Hospital on October 4, 2001. James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Isabel; daughter JoAnn; and son Doug (Darlene), Ashlee and Trista; sister Doris (Ed) Wells; brother George (Lorraine) as well as many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father James, mother Mary, and brother Raymond. James was born in Detroit, MI. He joined the navy in 1942 and served overseas until 1945. He began working for the Winnipeg Post Office as a railway mail clerk and later a letter carrier. He was also a former member of the East Kildonan Masons. His hobbies included curling, golfing at Pine Ridge Golf Club and spending time at Victoria Beach. Our thanks to Dr. K. Saunders, Dr. V. Taraska and the nursing staff on the 5th Floor of the Seven Oaks Hospital. According to James wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers donations in James memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg R3A 1P6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6 or a charity of your choice.
