Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN PHILIP JONES Peacefully on October 4, 2001 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Norman Jones, of Selkirk passed away at the age of 85. Norman was predeceased by his parents Philip and Lillian Jones, brother and sister-in-law Eric and Dot Jones, and infant grandson Anthony Zechel. He is survived by his three children, Stephanie (Roy) Purvis, Wayne (Betty) Jones and Elaine (Moe) Gowan; grandchildren, David (Karen), Kevin (Pamela) and Fletcher (Trena) Purvis; Sheryl Zechel, Laura (Todd) Cook and Paul (Cindy) Zechel; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Nikolas, Leanne, Emily, Mani, Danielle, Jack and Ethan; nephew Philip (Skip) and niece Lisa; great-nephew Dylan and great-niece Michelle. Norman spent much of his youth at Grand Beach. During the Second World War he served with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Signal Corps. He worked as an accountant with Cara Corp. until his retirement in his 70s when he moved to Selkirk from Calgary. The family would like to thank everyone, especially Roy Dymeterko, the staff at Gaynors, the staff at Selkirk General Hospital, Home Care and Dr. Antonenko and the clinic staff whose kindness, caring and service enabled him to remain at home. At Normans request cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
