SUSANNA DERKSEN Peacefully, on October 2, 2001 at Pembina Place Personal Care home, Susanna Dersken died at the age of 86 years. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret (Les) Loewen, Esther (Rudy) Epp, Eva (Dave) Rempel; son Alvin (Doris) Derksen of Steinbach; 10 grand-children; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters; and many other relatives and friends. Susanna was predeceased by her husband Jacob A. Derksen in 1972. Mother organized the volunteers at the Sargent Thrift Shop for many years and even in the nursing home, she was helping others. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Sargent Ave. Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield St. Interment to follow in Glenlea Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Viewing on Monday, October 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., and at the church prior to the service. If friends desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5K9 or to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
