VIOLETTE KURKJIAN (nee KALOUST) 1924 - 2001 On Thursday October 4, 2001, Violette peacefully passed away at the Grace Hospital with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Krikor Kurkjian in 1971. Violette was born in Beirut, Lebanon and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1976. She was employed at Rody Uniform as seamstress, which was her passion in life, until her early retirement in 1989. Violette is best remembered by her family and friends as being loving mother, a wonderful person who brightened up everyones life and as always having a great sense of humour. Violette has left behind a loving family, two daughters, a son and grandchildren; Therese and Joseph Parnoutsoukian and their sons Greg and Peter; Pauline and Edmond Zalal and their sons Dany and Dory; and Jack and Joel Kurkjian. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family; Parnoutsoukian and Zalal in Ottawa, Cox in Winnipeg, Kaloust in Montreal and Lebanon, and Kurkjian in France. Sincerest thanks to Dr. S. Domke, Grace Hospital and Tuxedo Villa. In lieu of flowers friends may make donations to St. Ignatius Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St., followed by a funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
