Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryETHEL IRENE LAMONT Peacefully, with her family by her side, Ethel Irene Lamont, age 96, passed away at the Emerson Personal Care Home, October 5, 2001. Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Lorne (Lorna), Don (Lise), Hugh (Diane), eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris and Iona and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Earle, in 1991, her parents, Alexander and Edith Kirkpatrick, sisters, Edna, Edith, Evelyn and Verna and brothers, Elmer and Herbert. Ethel was born in Green Ridge, MB, the eldest daughter of Alex and Edith Kirkpatrick. She attended Green Ridge School, then remained at home until her marriage, to help raise her siblings. In 1928, she married Earle Lamont and moved to Dominion City, where she resided until November 2000. Earle and Ethel farmed near Dominion City and in 1963 they moved to town. Ethel was an active member of the Community. She belonged to several organizations. She had a green thumb, and her home and yard were always adorned with flowers and plants. Also, she was an excellent cook and delighted in hosting many family celebrations. Mom was an avid sports fan. She loved to watch baseball and hockey games. In later years she enjoyed them on T.V. One of her favourite pastimes was bingo. She enjoyed playing it in the Care Home right up until recently. We wish to thank the Home Care workers who made it possible for Mom to remain in her home until she was 95 years old. Thanks also to Dr. Munsamy and the kind and dedicated staff at the Emerson Personal Care Home for their professional and compassionate care. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the Dominion City United Church, Wednesday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at the Dominion City Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Moms memory may be made to the D.C. Rec. Inc. or the Roseau Crossing Heritage Park. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Loewens Funeral Home.
