GORDON KENNETH GRIEVE Gordon Kenneth Grieve, quietly and peacefully, passed away at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home in Brandon at an early hour Friday morning, October 5, 2001. Gordon was born in Shoal Lake, MB on the 10th of March, 1935 and spent his early life on the family farm south of Shoal Lake. His education started at the local schools of Raven Lake and Shoal Lake and continued on to the University of Western Ontario in London, ON. After some years of work in different locals, Gordon made his home in Brandon, where he lived until his death. Parents Stewart and Rena Grieve; sisters, Roberta Broomhall, Edith Stefoniuk and Audrey Henderson; brothers, John and Macdonald Grieve all predeceased Gordon. Sisters, Joyce Edwards (Clifford) of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Margaret Pitre (Marcel) of Pine Falls, MB survive him, along with brother Larry Grieve (Margaret) of Kingsville, ON. His numerous nieces and nephews share deeply in his loss. Gordon enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, both as a participant and as an observer in later life. He took pleasure from listening to taped music, which became his entertainment that he loved to share with friend Anne Stinson. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Large and staff at the hospital who were so kind and helpful. An extra special thanks to Bev Morrice and staff, including those who made Gordons time at the Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home as rewarding as they could. The care and compassion they showed him during his stay with them was greatly appreciated. The funeral service will be held at Westminster United Church in Shoal Lake on Friday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Shoal Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions may be made to a charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake. (204) 759-2160.
