Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED FRANCES JANAWAY Peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Grace General Hospital, Mildred Janaway passed away at the age of 88 years. Mildred will be sadly missed by sons, David (Bobbi), Charles (Marsha) grandsons, Travis (Kristine) and Tom; brother Bert (Helen) Blacklock of Windsor, ON; sister-in-law Elgin Chamberlain of Colborne, ON and many nieces and nephews in Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Carl; grandson Rodney; sister Mae Knight; and brothers, George and Ralph Blacklock. Millie was born in Glencoe, ON, on May 13, 1913, she moved to Portage la Prairie in 1941 and to Winnipeg in 1977. Many special summers were spent at Sioux Narrows, ON at their summer residence. Mildred was a member of Sturgeon Creek United Church and a charter member of United Church Women (1962). She enjoyed the fellowship of her church craft group and other church activities. She was a member of The Winnipeg League for the Hard of Hearing. Millie was blessed with many close friends and greatly appreciated their visits and companionship. Nana was a loving, caring mother and grandmother who overcame her hearing impairment and was an inspiration to all. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive, Winnipeg with Reverend Debra Schweyer officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Gifts of remembrance may be sent to the Memorial Fund of Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3E2.
