JOHN PAUL Peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 77. John will be lovingly remembered by Ruth Smith, his companion of 27 years. Also left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory are his daughter Marie (Fred) and his sons, John, Robert (Kathy) and Mark. He was predeceased by his youngest son George (Cheryl). John will also be missed by his extended family; Ruths daughter Sydnie and son Swinburne (Myra). Dad will be sadly missed by all who called him Grandpa. Johns brother Albert (Georgiana) and his sister Susan (Andy), along with many nieces and nephews mourn with us in this time of sorrow. John enjoyed a lengthy and distinguished military career - first serving in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War, then continuing his service in the RCAF and Canadian Armed Forces until his retirement in 1974. After retiring from the military, John worked for the St. James School Division until his formal retirement at the age of 65. Johns departure has left a void in many hearts; he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. John was a loving, compassionate and caring man who enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. At Dads request a private family service will be held in Winnipeg after which he will return home to Windsor, ON for his interment. We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Grace Hospital, with a special thank you to his family physician Dr. Kotchea and the nursing staff of the 3rd floor west for their compassion and caring. Arrangements Entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
