Dad lived a very full life and remained jovial and positive till the end. He went to school in Schanzenfeld and from there he worked various jobs until December 1, 1943 when he enlisted in the army and continued to serve until June 29, 1946. From there he worked various jobs until March 31, 1951 when he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. While in the forces, he married his wife of 48 years Sarah Heinrichs on November 15, 1953 and together they raised their nine children until January 1, 1973 when he retired from the Air Force and purchased their home of 30 years in St. Vital. Epp in the Ottawa Mennonite Church where he became a member and continued to be an associate member after he moved to Winnipeg. Dad was a firm believer in God and as a strong Christian and spent his life reinforcing the Word of God to his children. Even in his final hours his greatest concern was seeing his children and grandchildren in Eternity. The family would like to thank the compassionate caring staff of the Palliative care ward of St. Boniface Hospital as well as Dr. John Peterson for their support and understanding during his illness.
