MELVIN RICHARD SCOTT On Monday, October 8, 2001 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Melvin Scott, aged 76 years of Lethbridge and formerly of Stonewall, passed away peacefully. Born April 16, 1925 at Roland, MB. He married Alvina Rowe on October 23, 1948, and resided in St. V ital and Transcona until moving to Stonewall in 1968. In 1976 he moved to Carberry, in 1988 to Bowsman and in 1993 to Lethbridge. He was predeceased by his wife Alvina in 1992. Melvin served in the Lake Superior Regiment during the Second World War and had been a member of the RCL Branch No. 52 Stonewall. Surviving to mourn his loss two daughters and three sons, Jan and husband Joe Burton of Stonewall, Gail and husband Remi Payette of Stonewall, Wayne and wife Linda of Lethbridge, Larry and wife Barbara of Calgary, Garry of Lethbridge; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom, Russell and Merv; one sister Millie Sailor; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Earl. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Mary Best will officiate, with interment to follow in the Stonewall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons, Brad and Brent Burton, Chad and Craig Scott, Adam and Allan Scott.
