ALFRED TOMES NELSON June 17, 1933 - October 8, 2001 Suddenly on Monday, October 8, 2001 at Visialia Hospital with his family at his side. Alf lived in Visialia for 31 years after moving to Long Beach Co. in 1958. He is survived by his wife Lois (Pratt) daughters, Cathy Harrison (Bret), Sandra Kalfanian (John) son Erik (Romona) six grandchildren all of Visialia; brother Jack, Alhambra, CA; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Nelson and Shirley Rawleigh as well as nieces and nephews. Alf was predeceased by his parents James and Alice Nelson of Winnipeg. Alf was born in Winnipeg in 1933 and lived here till 1958 when he moved to Long Beach Co. He attended Laverendrye, Earl Grey and Kelvin High School and was in the first year at Tec Voc. He served his apprenticeship with the CNR, Fort Rouge Shops as a machinist. Cremation has taken place with memorial to be held later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Manitoba.
