EDITH ZELLA HAMILTON (nee EVERTS) Born August 16, 1912 in Carmen, Edith passed away peacefully on October 12, 2001 at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert, her sisters Belle and Myrtle and her parents. Edith will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Ed (May) and Arnie; granddaughters, Dana and Colleen; grandsons, Craig and Ian; and many nieces and nephews. Edith and Albert married September 12, 1946 and moved to Winnipeg shortly after. They resided on Youville Street for many years and were very involved in their sons sporting activities. She was very proud of her boys. Edith also spoke fondly of her years of employment with Eatons. In 1969 Edith and Albert moved back to the country to their home on Highway 59 North, where they enjoyed many years tending their beautiful garden. In 1983, after the death of Albert, Edith moved to the Lions Manor in Selkirk. Ediths request is for a quiet graveside service to be held at the Miami Cemetery, Miami, MB on Tuesday, October 16 at 11:30 a.m. We would like to thank the Nursing Staff of Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and compassion making Moms final days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
