HEINRICH WERNER ANTONIUS GERLACH Peacefully, at the Concordia General Hospital, on the morning of Thursday, October 11, 2001, in his 70th year. Survived by his loving wife Kamini; and daughter Ciji Gerlach; son Frank Gerlach and daughter Susan Gerlach by Hannelord Lindemann. Werner was born in West Germany, Cosefeld in 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1961 and settled with his family in Winnipeg, where he raised his family. He worked at CN for 25 years and retired in 1991. After retirement, he took up woodworking in his garage. Werner belonged to the German Society of Manitoba, was a Mason member, and played music in his earlier years. Werner will be sadly missed by all his friends, his wit and charm will remain with all those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, with a viewing one hour prior to the service, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint).
