JACOB WIEBE FALK It is with deep sadness that the family of Jake Falk announces his passing away on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his six children, Shawna and Wayne Cole, Gerald and Judy Falk, Sandra Falk, Jim and Jude Falk, Robert and Jacqueline Falk, and Nadine Falk; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Sue Friesen, Tina Funk and Dorothy Rhymer. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne on May 6, 2000; and by five sisters and two brothers. Dad was born on December 29, 1913 in Schoentahl Village, MB. Dad and Mom were married on June 14, 1947. One of Dads most outstanding qualities was his integrity. He was a very loyal friend and he always looked out for the interests of others. He worked in the Peace River District, then on the Alaska Highway. He served as an airplane mechanic in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He farmed with his wife in the Altona area, then west of Roland where he eventually purchased the farm. His love for farming was evident by his organization and attention to detail. Many in the area got to know Dad as their school bus driver. The family would like to thank Dr. Jacobs, Dr. Jackson, Dr. Abu and the dedicated staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre for their sincere attention and support. Warmest thanks to Julie Cumberbatch for her friendship and loving care. A memorial service will be held at Doyles Funeral Chapel in Carman on Monday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. with John Hardman officiating. The service will terminate at the chapel with lunch to follow. Doyles Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
