Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSS EMERSON VASEY Peacefully, at the Fort Garry Centre, Ross Vasey, beloved husband of Dorothy, died on October 12, 2001, in his 91st year. He was born in Deloraine, MB on December 22nd, 1910, the son of William and Hattie Vasey. He took his early education in Deloraine and then attended Brandon College, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University. He went on to the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Education Degree. He taught and was Principal in a number of Manitoba towns, including Isabella, Elkhorn and Roland. In Winnipeg, he taught for many years at Robert H. Smith and Kelvin High Schools. In 1956, he was appointed School Inspector for Neepawa and District and returned to Winnipeg in 1959, where he worked for the Department of Education until his retirement in 1975. He also taught at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Education, and, in retirement taught English as a Second Language and Communication Skills to Provincial Civil Servants and CA students. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters, Catherine Marlin, Rose Ferries, Anne Dunlop and Heather Taylor. Also survived by sons-in-law, George Marlin and Digby Ferries; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Jane, one brother, three sisters and son-in-law Ian Dunlop, as well as his first wife Gwen. Funeral service will be held at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave., at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17. Viewing will take place at the Church one half hour before the service. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Clark Saunders. The family gratefully declines flowers.
