PETRONELLA (NELLIE) MAJOR Petronella (Nellie) Major passed away at the Boyne Lodge in her 91st year, beloved wife of the late Vern Major of Carman, MB. Nellie was born Petronella Antonia Van Apeldoorn October 7, 1911 at Amsterdam, Holland. She married Vern Major March 8, 1933 in Manor, SK. They lived in Carman, Miami, West Hawk Lake and retired back to Carman in 1972. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Van Apeldoorn in 1957, her mother Petronella Antonia in 1970, her brother John in 1982, her husband Vern in 1986, and an infant son in 1941. Nellie is survived by two sons, Vern (Laurette) Major of Keremos, BC and Raymond (Pearl) Major of Edmonton, AB.; one daughter Shirley (Harry) Lyle of Mather, MB., 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held from Doyles Funeral Chapel in Carman on Tuesday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB.
