JAMES THOMAS MIDDLETON (JIM) Peacefully on October 12, 2001, at the Grace Hospital, James Middleton passed away at the age of 81 years. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie in 1985. He is survived by his son Ken; daughters, Londa, Debbie; and grandchildren Enaka (Joel), Ken Jr., Mandy; and three great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his companion and soulmate of 17 years, Doddy Turnbull. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Vivian Dugray, Birdie Ike, Mary LeClaire, and brother-in-law Don Ringland (Dorothy). Dad was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Queens own Cameron Highlanders. Following the war, Jim worked in the trucking industry before joining the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1949, retiring in 1981. Jim was a lifetime member of the 215 Legion, Henderson Highway branch, having served in various capacities including president and past president. He was actively involved with the Legions District 64 Zone Command and the Shriners Oriental Band. A sincere thank you to all the staff at the Grace General Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, at 300 Hugo and Mulvey at 2:00 p.m. with close family friend Father Ron McCullough officiating. A reception will be held at the 215 Legion, Henderson Highway and the Perimeter following the service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
