KENNETH (KEN) LEONARD CUTTS On Friday, October 12, 2001, Kenneth (Ken) Leonard Cutts died at the Tuxedo Villa - Extendicare Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 77 years. Ken was born to Leonard and Jean Cutts (nee McGoun) in Saskatoon, on June 25, 1924. He was raised in Medicine Hat, and at the age of 16 he took a post with the Canadian Bank of Commerce. With the outbreak of the Second World War Dad joined the Navy serving on the H.M.S. Battleford in the Atlantic theatre. With an honourable discharge he returned to the Bank of Commerce and was posted to Taber, AB where he met his wife Patricia Hansen. Within seven years Dad was appointed Manager of the new Calgary North Hill branch and at that time he was the youngest man to have ever received such a position. His banking career was a steady climb culminating in a position at Head Office in Toronto as head of Business Development. Dad left the Bank when recruited to be General Manager to the Bank of Western Canada. He later became Chairman and CEO of Fort Garry Trust, President of Bestlands Development and served in numerous positions as a Consultant to the Financial Industry. Dad retired as Executive Director, and Partner at Sharwood and Company. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in 1952 and served faithfully in many leadership positions. Dad also served in the Toronto Temple. Remaining to forever cherish Dads memory are his wife Patricia, of 55 years of marriage; six children, 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Robin (Jeana) and children, Angela, Tim, Lisa, Amy, Doug of Winnipeg; Terry Weatherston (Alex) and children, Christine and Michael of Ottawa, ON; Joan Grumbles (John) and children, Randy, Jennifer, Caroline, Melissa, James and great-grandchild Joey Wilson of Allen, TX; Ken (Patty) and children, James, Jill, John, Tom, Valerie and Richard of Winnipeg; Pam Call (Parker) and children, David and Briannan of Grand Junction, CO; Christopher (Victoria) and child Christian of Toronto, ON; and by one brother Ernest Cutts of Vancouver, BC. Kens funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 45 Dalhousie Dr., Winnipeg, with President George L. Spencer presiding. For those who wish, viewing will be held one hour prior to Kens service. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Our family wishes to convey our appreciation to the staff of Tuxedo Villa and Dr. Aldor for the excellent care they provided.
