MARION MARY MOREAU The families of Marion Mary Moreau wish to announce her passing on Friday, October 12, 2001 at the Grace Hospital. Marion was born to Henry and Anna (Bach) Young on December 6, 1907 at their family farm in Jedbourgh, SK. She was the third child of five children. She attended school in Jedbourgh at the Rocky Dale School until grade 8. She left the farm at 17 years of age and moved to Yorkton, SK, where she worked as a waitress. This job was not to her liking, so she moved to Winnipeg to join her sister, Christina Wocks. She got a job at the Winnipeg General Hospital, now the Health Sciences Centre. Later, she attended night classes and became a hairdresser. She moved back to Yorkton to run a hairdressing shop for four years. In 1936, she moved back to Winnipeg where she met and married Harvey Moreau the following year. They lived in Winnipeg until 1947 when they purchased a small hotel in Fenwood, SK. Together they operated the hotel for four years and then moved back to Winnipeg, where they remained for the rest of their lives. On June 2, 1998, her beloved husband, Harvey passed away. Marion had loved bowling, square dancing, singing in a choir and traveling. She leaves to mourn her sister June Poulain of Winnipeg; her nephews, Bob (Jean) Young of Calgary and their family, Len (Jacquie) Young of Saskatoon and their family, Raymond Morrow of Edmonton and his family; and her niece Doreen McFerran of Winnipeg and her family. Marion was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Henry Young, husband Harvey Moreau, sister Christina Wocks, half sister Catherine, her brother Jack (Nora) Young, and nephew Jack Young. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave. at Henderson Highway. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
