DUANE ALLISTAIR (DICK) DeCORBY On Friday, October 12, 2001, Duane Allistair (Dick) DeCorby, Fort QuAppelle, SK passed away suddenly at the age of 65 years. The funeral mass will be at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lebret SK on Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Glenn Zimmer. Interment in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. Prayers will be held in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Fort QuAppelle on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Predeceased by his parents, Emile and Margaret; a brother Raphael; and mother-in- law Dorris (Stuart) Hunter. Duane will be sadly missed by his loving wife Gloria; and their children, Greg (Winnipeg) and his children, Rachel, Lee and Erik; his daughter Michele Regina, and Doug, Fort QuAppelle; father-in-law Ken (Laura) Hunter, Regina; brothers, Francis (Lucille), Rose Valley, SK, Ron, Lebret; Aubrey (Hazel), St. Albert, AB, Keith (Jeanette), Calgary, AB; Kevin (Ruth), Moose Jaw, Joe (Shirley), Fort Nelson, BC, Emile, Lebret, Gerry (Karen), Winnipeg; sisters, Lucille (Al) Bitz, Regina and Margaret (Richard) Beston Calgary; additional family, Jean Bellegarde, Fort QuAppelle, Pat (Sharon) Marchuk, Regina and Wayne (Bernice} Stuart, Regina; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. Duane was born and raised in Lebret, a graduate of Campion College 1955. An R.C.A.F. Pilot, he went to work at General Films where he met the love of his life Gloria. He was a valued employee with Inland Cement 1959-2001, he was fortunate to enjoy his work and his many coworkers and valued customers. He was an accomplished athlete excelling in Boxing, Basketball, Baseball, Football (Regina Rams), Hockey (Sioux Indians, QuAppelle Barkers, Wapella Blackhawks). His love of sport continued in his later years, was scoring champion with the Winnipeg Old Timers League. He later was an umpire in baseball, and Referee in Chief of AAA Hockey League, Winnipeg and Referee in the WHL and Referee in Chief of the QuAppelle Valley Hockey League. A spiritual and community minded man who was an active member of his church and various community committees and organizations, the "Knights of Columbus" and others. In Light of his achievements most importantly he was a devoted husband and a wonderful father who made his family his most important priority.
