Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN LINDSAY WOOLVEN "JACK" Peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2001 at the Grace Hospital, John Woolven passed away at the age of 89 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian; twins, Paul Lindsay and Janice Elva who died in infancy and brother Maurice. He is survived by his sister Lois Gibson of Kelowna, B.C.; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Woodrow (Bill) of Winnipeg, Helen Robertson of Edmonton and many nephews and nieces. Jack was born in 1912 at Foxwarren, MB. He moved to Brandon at an early age where he completed his education. He was employed by the Imperial Bank of Canada for many years in Brandon and Winnipeg. After the war, he was employed by the Reliance Grain Co. and Inter-Ocean Grain. When Simpsons Sears opened their new store in Polo Park he joined the staff in the display department. Jack had a lifetime interest in art. He was a member of the Winnipeg Tennis Club, Winnipeg Badminton Club and had many enjoyable years in the activity of square and round dancing. He was a member of Westworth United Church. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Treherne, MB at a later date.
