Date of Passing: Oct 14, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTEENA (MICHAELINA) BILUK Peacefully, with her family by her side, Teena (Michaelina) Biluk, aged 83 years, was called to meet her Creator on October 14, 2001. Loving daughter of the late William and Dora Biluk of Roblin, MB; sister to William (late Olga) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Betty Fedenuik (late Mike) of Roblin, Nellie Manchur (Tony) of Winnipeg. Teena was predeceased by her brothers, Steve (Kay) of Kelowna, BC, John (late Mary) of Sault Ste. Marie, Joseph (Carol) of Sault Ste. Marie, brother Marionko (aged 4 years) of Roblin; sister Jessie (late Pete) of Roblin, and most recently by brother Peter (Louise) of Sault Ste. Marie. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Teena worked at several C.N.I.B. canteens, but her greatest satisfaction came from teaching. Teena taught English and Music at regular school for three to four years, just after graduation. Many of her years were as a "home teacher", teaching Braille to the blind and mute, as well as piano to the sighted and the blind. Traditional celebrations with family at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving were always special to Teena for she was rarely able to share them as a young child growing up in Brantford at the School for the Blind. Teenas love for animals, especially dogs, was evident to all who knew her. She was fortunate to have had six "sighted" years with her Guide Dog "Belle". Teena took pride in her nieces and nephews accomplishments, never having had children of her own. She enjoyed many evenings of "singsongs" with family and friends, both in Ukrainian and English, and occasionally topped the evening with a Brandy to warm the soul. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and volunteers at Vista Park Lodge for their warmth and care of Teena over the past three years. Prayers will be held Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., and a private family Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thursday, October 18 with Rev. Fr. McVay officiating, assisted by Rev. Deacon W. Knysh. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
