MARIE HARASYMCHUK (NEE WUSATY) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marie on October 16, 2001, at the age of 67. She will always be remembered and lovingly missed by her daughters, Debbie (Alan) and Lisa (Jeremy) grandchildren, Chris, Kelly, Caitlyn, Courtney and Michaela; brother Alex (Marilyn) and sister Joan; She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Anne Mestdagh (Bill), and Anne Harasymchuk; brother-in-law Bill Huyda; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Mickey in 1986; her parents, Martin and Irene Wusaty; sisters-in-law, Lucille, Alfreda, Mary and Ollie; brothers-in-law, Bill and John. Marie was born May 23, 1934 in Libau, MB and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 16. She met Mickey and they married in 1955. She worked at The Chocolate Shop on Portage Avenue for more than 30 years until her retirement in March of 2000 due to illness. Maries greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, with whom she leaves many wonderful memories. She was a very loving, kind and gentle mom and grandma and will be missed so much. She loved spending time with her family, watching her grandchildren, travelling whenever the opportunity arose, and taking little trips to the casinos. She enjoyed her life and never complained, even during her stay in the hospital, when she was in pain. She fought long and hard to stay with us as long as she could. The family would like to express their thanks to the Doctors and staff at Cancer Care Manitoba and to Dr. Kirk and the wonderful, caring staff on 3E at Riverview Health Centre who helped to make Moms last weeks as comfortable as possible. In accordance with Maries wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marie to CancerCare Manitoba, ON, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or the Riverview Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, R3L 9Z9 Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
