BRADLEY JOHN HELLUM Suddenly on Thursday October 11, 2001, Brad Hellum died at the age of 30 in Shamattawa, MB. In a tragic accident, responding as a medical evacuation pilot, Brad passed on doing what he loved to do. Brad will be remembered by his mother Olya, father Flemming, and sister Rona. He will also be dearly missed by his grandparents as well as aunts and uncles. Brad was born on May 19, 1971 and was raised in Mississauga, ON. After studying architecture for a short while he decided to follow his heart and become a pilot. Upon obtaining his commercial pilots licence from Brampton Flying Club he finished his training with Perimeter Aviation in Winnipeg. While studying, Brad worked on the ramp for Skycharter at Torontos Pearson Airport. He then moved to Winnipeg in search of his first job as a pilot, which he obtained with Perimeter Airlines in August 2000 after working for their cargo department. Brad was an avid outdoorsman with a love of fishing, camping and canoeing. This Maple Leafs superfan would never pass up the opportunity to prepare a great meal and share his contagious laughter with his friends before a big game. He always lived his life Full Blast and was an inspiration to everyone he met. Brads adopted family at Perimeter will never be the same without their Gentle Giant and his genuine smile. A memorial service for Brad and his Captain William R. Gray will be held in Winnipeg at the Western Canada Aviation Museum, 958 Ferry Rd. on Thursday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at a later date in Mississauga, ON. Fly on my friend...
