Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH ANNIE PARKER (nee PLAYFORTH) Peacefully in her sleep, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Edith Parker passed away on October 10, 2001, at the Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Edith was born on November 29, 1917, in Yorkshire England, Maske by the Sea. She immigrated to Canada in 1924 and settled in northern Saskatchewan. While her first husband Douglas Wain was away during the Second World War, Edith moved west, finally settling with her husband in Alberta, and later in British Columbia. Edith is survived by her two sons, Douglas Wain (Beatrice) and Duncan Wain (Lorraine) five grandchildren, Claudette Chudy, Douglas Wain Jr., Charlette Wain, Duncan Wain Jr. (Natascha Klan), and Michelle Fitzpatrick (David) five great-grandchildren, Robert Sabo (Renee), Callie Wain, Victoria, Shona and Michael Fitzpatrick; her sister Lena and her children, Barbara, Donald, and Janet; and brother Carl (Irene). Edith was predeceased by her first husband Douglas Wain and second husband William Parker. At Ediths request, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will take place on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Green Acres Lane. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Ediths memory to CancerCare MB, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
