Mom was born August 31, 1927 in Rainy River, ON. She moved to Winnipeg where she worked and met Don and they were married on October 15, 1955 at First English Lutheran Church. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her husband Don; daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Steve. She was a very proud Grandma to Taryn and Nathan. She is survived by her sisters, Laura (Willie), Marjorie, Gladys (Emil) and brother Gerald (Judy). She will be sadly missed by her life long friends, Fran and Bud Baldwin of Winnipeg. Louise retired from the Bank of Nova Scotia in September 1988 after 21 years of dedicated service at main branch. Mom led an active life before and after her retirement. She was involved in many organizations throughout her life including Girl Guides (Leader), Toastmasters, volunteered for the United Way and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She enjoyed travelling with Dad to visit friends and family throughout Canada and the U.S.A. Mom will also be remembered for her many talents which included sewing, quilting, crocheting, macrame, knitting and baking. She most enjoyed using her talents for the enjoyment of others as gifts for weddings, birthdays or other special occasions. She was an avid gardener all her life and took special pride in her home and yard. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care this past summer. Special thanks to the nursing staff at the Grace Hospital who helped mom be comfortable in her final hours.
