CAVALLO 1930 - 2001 The family of Sabbia Cavallo sadly announce her passing on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the St. Boniface Hospital with her family and friends by her side. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her children, Tony and Maria; a brother-in-law Michele (Maria) of Winnipeg; her brother, Michele (Maria) of Toronto; brother Angelo (Felichetea) and sisters, Ida (Nino), Giovanna and Antoinetta; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth, all of Italy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends in Winnipeg, Toronto and Italy. Sabbia was predeceased by her loving husband Angelo; her parents, Pasquale and Seliche; and a brother, Donato. Sabbia was born on April 3, 1930 in Casoli, Chieti, Abruzzo, Italy. She met Angelo Cavallo and they were united in marriage on February 6, 1965. The couple immigrated to Canada in June of that year and have been blessed with two children. Sadly, Angelo passed away on December 10, 1979 and Sabbia continued with great strength and courage in raising her family. Her family will remember her for her wonderful sense of humour and her passion for gardening. Friends and family were always amazed with how meticulous they found her garden. Sabbia will be especially remembered for the love shown to her family and friends, nothing was more important to her. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to for all the support given by family and friends during this difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Lezack, Dr. Jones, Dr. Letocki and Dr. Ross along with all the wonderful staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care and to Joanne and Celine of Home Care for the special care given to Mom. Also to Wilson at Safeway Pharmacy for his professional assistance. Flowers are gratefully declined, friends so wishing may make donations in Sabbias memory to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Ave., Wpg, MB R3E 0V9 as tokens of remembrance. Prayers will be held Friday, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. from Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Raj Savarimuthu as celebrant. The pallbearers will be Toni Cavallo, Rudy Cavallo, Darlene McGibbon, Monique Johnson, Sam Yanno, and Bob Tabak. Sabbia will be laid to rest in the Chapel Mausoleum of Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
