KRISTEN KATHLEEN HOLLAND Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, at the St. Boniface Hospital Kristen Kathleen passed away after a courageous battle with Wegeners Granulomatosis at the age of 27. She leaves to mourn her mother and father, Bobbie and Ted Holland; her brother Rob and sister-in-law Jennifer; aunts and uncles, Nancy Ann and Roy Parkhill, Kathie Leitch and Eileen and Doug Virnig; numerous cousins and her beloved dog, Kirby, named after her hero Kirby Puckett. One of her greatest joys was to be godmother to Shanlyn Parkhill. Kristen loved children and received a certificate in child care from Red River College. She was employed as a day care worker at Montrose School prior to her illness. She was born on October 1, 1974 in Winnipeg. She attended Brock Corydon, River Heights and Kelvin Schools. Kristen competed competitively in Masters swimming, loved to go to ice shows and spend the summers at Ponemah, Matlock and Kenora. Kristen had a quiet and gentle soul and had many great laughs with her devoted dad. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 61 Picardy, Winnipeg, MB. Her family would like to thank the kind nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital Dialysis Units, 5B and Intensive Care Unit. Her days were also often brightened by her daily visits with Denis Delorme and his Sheltie, Niijii. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
