Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD A. YOUNG Donald A. Young, BSc (CE), U. of Manitoba; MBA Harvard. Born January 15, 1930, Winnipeg, MB. Died October 17, 2001, Toronto, ON. I leave this world with few regrets and much gratitude for the blessings I have received. My life was enriched and made joyful by those closest to me - Beth (Melville) Young (d. 1984), who saw me through good times and bad and who gave me three special and accomplished children: Debbie Lee (Curtis), Gregory Young (Janet) and Tori Young (Deanna Hodgins) grandchildren, Mike, Jenna, Stephanie and Danny Lee; Ashley, Robert, Jeffrey and Bradley Young; brother Fred (Winnipeg) and sister Gail Richl (Edmonton) and by my wife Arlene Arnason, who rescued me from grief and taught me what true partnership means. My life has been fulfilled by the opportunities I have had to serve my community through instructional workshops and courses, participation in the introduction of recycling in the City of Toronto; as a volunteer member of committees in figure skating, engineering, sales and marketing, cottaging, Cancer Care Ontario and Alcoholics Anonymous; as a volunteer adviser on solid waste management for communities in Northern Ireland, Costa Rica and northern China, under the auspices of CESO; and the achievement of a pilots licence at the age of 68. Cremation and interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery will be carried out privately by my family, who invite friends to join them in celebrating my life on Sunday, October 28, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Don and Arlenes, 31 Carluke Cres., Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dr. Keith Stewart, Myeloma Research Fund/Princess Margaret Foundation, 5th floor, Room 126, 610 University Ave., Toronto, ON M5G 2M9; or to Alcoholics Anonymous, Suite 202, 234 Eglinton Ave. E., Toronto, ON M4P 1K5, would be appreciated.
