ALVIN LEONARD BOYD LEADER Peacefully, on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital, Alvin passed away at the age of 72. Born on February 2, 1929 in Snowflake, MB., to Leonard and Marjorie. Alvin is survived by his wife Gail and seven children, David, Eleanor (Brian), Eric (Andrea), James (Jaime), Jennifer (Shawn), Philip (Chelsey), Ian (Marika) two sisters, Joyce Maxwell and Jean (Maurice) Didkowski; and five grandchildren, Justin, Johnathon, Joseph, Brandon and Michael. Alvin is predeceased by his son Timothy Lawrence William who passed away on July 18, 2001 at the age of 25. Alvin graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1954 with a degree in Architecture. He was employed by LM Architectural Group for most of his career, but he was self-employed from 1975 - 1980. Alvin retired in 1999 at the age of 70. Some of Alvins career accomplishments as project architect included the Morden Research Centre, Morden, MB., the Winnipeg Safety Building, the Teachers Society, the Winnipeg Convention Centre, the St. John Brebeuf Church, the Lakeview Square Development, and numerous other projects as architect for the city of Winnipeg. We would like to thank all the medical staff on 3E that cared for Alvin. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Saviours Anglican Church at 690 Munroe Ave. with interment in Brookside Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made to the CNIB or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
