HAZEL ELIZABETH HUNTER (nee BIEBER) December 12, 1921-October 7, 2001 With profound sadness our family announces the passing away, at home, of our cherished grandmother, mother, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, and dear, dear, friend. Born and raised in the North End of Winnipeg, she was predeceased by her parents, Caroline and Andrew Bieber; her brothers, Carl, Harold, Edward, and Norman; and by her sister Wilma Muller. She is survived by her husband Al Saltzman and sister Ruth and brother-in-law Les Worsdale; sister-in laws, Jane Hunter and Olive Riggall. She is Grandma to Aaron, Jordan, Gillian, Ezra, Meka, Jackson, Siobhan, and Harlan; Stepgrandma to Tracy and Nikki, Tai and Kim, Maggie, Angus, Rose and David, Shari, Autumn, and Laura. Step-great-grandma to Hannah and Emma; Mother to Michael, Carla and Earl, Sharon (her beloved daughter who passed away July 4, 1989), John and Lou, Bill and May May, Trisha and John; Step-mom to Danny and Lori, Geneva and Bob, David and Dana, Jackie, (Als beloved daughter who passed away October 15, 1998), and Rowena. She was an untiring mother who had a passion for life no matter what she was dealt, and will pass on a legacy to her children and future generations of great personal strength and integrity. Our mother was able to pass away at home, as requested with the support of her doctor, Dr. Benningen, and the compassionate team at the Palliative Care Unit. We extend our sincere thanks to RNs Mary Ashcroft and Barb Bel. The family wishes to deeply thank our mothers devoted friends, Francine Miller, Kay Pawlowski, Bev Baggley, Shannon Fontaine and all who shared their comforting thoughts and support at this time. A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 9. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Marvin Slutchuk who so beautifully officiated. Interment occurred on Tuesday, October 16 with a small family graveside service as her expressed wish was carried out to rest with her daughter Sharon. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
