Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPHINE JESSIE DOERING Peacefully at home with her children at her side, Jessie passed away Friday, October 19, 2001 at the age of 73 years. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anne Thack and her husband Bill. She will be fondly remembered by her brother Bruce Thack (Sarah Laubman) sisters, Emily Melnick (Harry) and Helen Earley (late Tom Earley) and several nieces and nephews and their children. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joanne and Billy. Jessie was born on October 15, 1928 and raised in The Pas, MB. She married Bill in 1952 and they moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family. She worked as a telephone operator for the Manitoba Telephone system for several years until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Womens Group of the Telephone Pioneers in Selkirk and enjoyed participating in their get-togethers. Mothers focus in life was her children. After her husband Bills passing in 1981, she continued to maintain the family home as a place where they could always come for support, love, and laughter. Jessie loved going up to The Pas to visit family and friends, a place where she could truly relax. Surely, her spirit is there now, helping the Northern Lights to shine a little brighter. We wish to thank the Selkirk Home Care staff case coordinators, nurses and aides for their tender care, and neighbours and friends whose assistance allowed Mother to remain in the family home over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local public library. Funeral service will be held at Little Britain United Church, 5879 Highway No. 9, on Tuesday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Chris Bridgett officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Church Hall. A private family interment for Jessie and Bill will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas, MB.
