JUSTIN MATTHEWS It is with great sorrow that the family announces the accidental passing of Justin Matthews, aged 15 years, of Ashern, MB on October 18, 2001. Justin was born on December 5, 1985 in Winnipeg, MB. He resided in Ashern with his Mom, Laura and attended the Ashern Central School. He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies, BJ and Jared, whom he considered his brothers. Justin was an energetic young man who enjoyed each day to the fullest. It was just recently that Justin and his buddy Jared purchased a motor bike and spent hours riding. One of his favourite things to do was go to Monkman Island with Brian and BJ. He also loved to spend time with his niece Cassandra and nephew Joshua. He will be sadly missed by his mom, Laura Matthews and friend Tim Jeffrey; his father Melvin Matthews; a brother Chris and sister Amanda; half brothers, Tanner and Logan; his niece Cassandra and nephew Joshua; grandmas, Mary McDonald of Winnipeg and Janet Ramsey of Port Coquitlam, BC; great-grandpa Fred Hyde of Ashern, along with numerous aunts, uncles, other family members and many good friends. Justin was predeceased by his great-grandmother Elsie Hyde in 1995 and his grandpa Harvey Ramsey in 1990. Friends and relatives may pay their respects between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22 at the Arnason Funeral Home, Ashern. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23 at the Ashern United Church with Rev. Melanie Kauppila officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Service will conclude at the Church with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be Jared McKay, BJ Monkman, Kirk Arnold, James Roy, Chris Ramsey and Travis Dauphinais.
