MARIE DAVIES (nee LACHANCE) September 19, 1910- October 19, 2001 Mrs. Marie Davies, aged 91 years, widow of the late Hugh Davies, passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital early Friday, October 19, 2001. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Lawrence and his children, Hugh and Gail (Michael Graham) and her daughter Pat Gaudes (John), their children, Robert (Christine), Donald (Carole), Andrew (Georgine), Gordon and Karen Johnson (Rob) and her nine great-grandchildren; and her companion Frank Roeland. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh in 1987; one infant son, Donald; two brothers, Amie and Paul; and five sisters, Cecile Degagne, Celina Pomerleau, Juliette Britner, Rose Gagne, and Lucille Pidlaski. Marie was fond of saying, "Every day is a gift!" A product of her times, she always picked herself up after falling, moved through lifes trials, and seemed to never doubt that happiness was waiting for her just around the bend. Contentment for her was family and friends. She loved to be with everyone in love, song, dance, games, talk and laughter. Hard work never daunted her. An excellent seamstress, her loved ones were always the benefactors of her talent. She was extremely proud of her 55 years of employment with Perths and her independence in later life. Funeral liturgy will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Rd., on Monday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Carl Tarnopolski officiating. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. The family extends their heart-felt thanks to the staff at the Victoria General Hospital and Rev. Fr. Pat Morand.
