Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANINA JANKA PIERONIK (nee Brennenstuhl) On Friday, October 19, 2001 at Holy Family Home, Janina Pieronik, passed away at the age of 87 years. Besides her niece, Helen (Brennenstuhl) Gallant of San Francisco, she is survived by and leaves to mourn; her second cousin Kasia Boruta of Dearborn, MI, third cousins, Barbara Martz, Karl Martz, Mark Martz of Winnipeg, relatives in Poland and their families. She also leaves to mourn her dear helper and devoted friend Lena Kaminsky and her other long-time close friends, Leah Polansky, Mary Kitras and Tina Stefanowich. She was predeceased by her husband, brothers and sisters. Janina Janka was a paratrooper, jumping out of planes during the Second World War, was sent to Siberia after the war for seven years for her courageous honesty, integrity and outspokenness. She was thrilled to be sponsored for Canadian Residency by her brother Michael Brennenstuhl, his wife Ruzhia and Jankas niece Helen in the late 1950s. She had a deeply spiritual and happy life in Winnipeg until the ravages of Alzheimer overtook her. She worked at Deer Lodge Hospital until retirement. She died of stomach cancer after having been uniquely and profoundly well taken care of by the Senior Apartment Complex at Autumn House and during the last three years at Holy Family Home. She was a fabulous person. The family would like to thank especially Lena Kaminsky, Angela Andrzejczak, Rose Abamowicz, Victor Deneka, Phyllis Hewak, Dr. Sammy Hrushovetz, Marjie Hrushovetz, Helen and Roman Kowal, Calum Lunn, Health Sciences Genetics Dept., Autumn House, Holy Family Home and Bernice Frick, her family and the pallbearers for their loving help. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Janinas low-keyed, calm, depth of character taught those around her much.
