Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN TRIMBLE On October 20, 2001, Jean Trimble (nee Mildred Jean Adair) slipped away peacefully after a lengthy but brave battle with cancer at the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative unit attended by family and life long friends. Jean was born on June 7, 1920 in Brandon, MB. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Kenneth; and her parents David Niven and Mildred Adair. She is survived by her husband Fred (A.W. Trimble) and daughter Carole Jean Trimble; her sister Marjorie Segal (Skee) of Toronto, ON; and brother Alan Adair (Gloria) San Diego; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean and Fred celebrated 52 years of marriage last May. She attended Mulvey, General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre Schools. Her brother Ken inspired an interest in classical music and Doyly Carte opera. Jean was in several Gilbert & Sullivan Operas put on by Daniel McIntyre. She will always be remembered for her ready smile and happy, cheerful overlook on life which she maintained right to the end. She attended All Saints Anglican Church in her early years where she taught Sunday School. Then St. Marks Anglican were she was involved in the W.A. and taught Sunday school with her daughter Carole. Latterly, she attended St. Georges Anglican Crescentwood until ill health prevented her from participating in any church activities. During her working life she was a clerk at the Nut House on Portage Avenue and Main Street. She related many stories about how she had to go in to open up the shop and keep a smile on her face or the customers got his/her purchase free. Following that she was an elevator girl at Hudsons Bay Company and eventually worked in the cosmetics department. After attending Business College she became a stenographer. During the Second World War she was a civilian stenographer with the Air Force working out at Number 3 Wireless. Following the War she worked at C.P.R. local freight for several years. In 1951 she became a full time mother after the birth of her daughter. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff on 5B and the Palliative Care Unit for all their dedicated care. Special thanks goes to Joanne, Sister Rose, the volunteer "Guitar Player" in Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire all donations should be directed to C.T. Scanner Fund at St. Boniface General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at St. Georges Anglican Church, Grosvenor Avenue at Wilton Street on Thursday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. Family graveside service will be held at a later date.
