Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJONATHAN HOWELL Jonathan lost his long fight with cancer on Friday, October 19, 2001. Left behind to cherish his memory is his fiancee Sandy Oliveira; parents, Dianne and Murray Howell; brother George Howell and his girlfriend Barb Krokosz; grandmother Kathleen Howell and close friend Scott Mastrangelo. He will be remembered by his extended family and friends. Jonathan was born June 27, 1972 and grew up in Thompson, MB. He attended University of Manitoba and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1992. He traveled to South Korea to teach for a year. On his return to Canada, he worked at Christie Brown & Company for two years. He then returned to University with the goal of entering Dentistry when he was diagnosed. He was positive he could continue his studies and fight this disease, which he did, until it became impossible. Jonathan loved life. He was determined to live, to have a career, to travel, to have a family. His interests included physical fitness, computers and his dog Vasco. He exuded an inner strength and self-confidence. He loved a challenge and would not take the easy road. His positive attitude and sense of humour gave strength to those around him during this painful time. From the time he was 5 years old he had a firm belief in God and his unwavering faith gave him peace in his final days. The family appreciates all the support of cards, phone calls, thoughts and prayers from friends, family and co-workers. Honouring Jonathans wishes in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive with Pastor Jason Sheppard presiding.
