LUCILLE McCARTHY (nee GERVAIS) January 28, 1929 - October 21, 2001 Peacefully, with family at her side, Maman passed into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2001. Lucille was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Frank, her seven children, Gilbert (Ginette) McCarthy, Claire (Jean) Dorge, Estelle (Allan) Dandeneau, Monique (Guy) Lambert, Nicole (Darryl) Nagam, Raymonde (Doug) Shaw, and Joanne (Tim) Vandale; her grandchildren, Christel, Brigitte, Joel, Stephanie, Chantal, Justin, Jeremie, Matthieu, Sylvie, Danick, Sophie and Isabelle; her sisters, Annette, Eva, Yvonne (Gerry), and Pauline (Cyril) her brothers, Adelard, Cyril (Lucienne), Paul (Carol), and Maurice (Emily) her sisters-in-law, Helene and Rose. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Aurore Gervais, her sister Bernadette and her granddaughters, Jenelle and Anita Nagam. Moms happiest moments were with her family - her children, grandchildren. She devoted her life to them. If not with her family, you could find her gardening, sewing or doing household repairs. We will miss her unconditional love, her patience, her quiet but witty demeanour, her soft-spoken voice and her warm smile. Maman, nous remercions le bon Dieu davoir ete beni avec ton amour pour toutes ces annees. Our heartfelt thanks to the support provided by the compassionate staff on Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital and to Dr. Moltzen. Their care and pleasant atmosphere brought much comfort to Moms little remaining time with us. If friends so desire, donations can be made in her memory to the Leukemia Research Fund, 936 The East Mall, Toronto, ON, M9B 6J9 or to lAssociation Missionaire de Marie Immaculee, Box 128, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 3B4. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Lucilles life by attending prayers on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing at 10:00 a.m. in the Precieux Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St. A private family interment of the cremated remains will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
