Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGENEVIEVE (JEAN) OCHOCKI October 14, 1917 - October 20, 2001 Jean peacefully slipped away on Saturday, October 20, 2001, at the age of 84, at the Holy Family Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband John; brothers, Bill and Mike "Pinky"; and sister Mary. Jean is survived by her son Donald (Genivieve) and daughter Darlene (Larry) grandson Russell; granddaughters, Robin (Rodney), Dana (Andrew) and Darcy; and great-grandson Ryland; also niece Patricia (David), and Tania and Jennifer. Jean was born and raised in Winnipegs North End. She married John in 1938 and devoted her energies to raising her family. She worked for many years at T & T Seed Company. Later on, Jean worked at Eatons in the Warehouse Division for over 12 years, retiring in 1982. Jean was a hard worker but a sensitive and loving mother. Jean enjoyed talking with her family and many friends. She especially cherished her visits to see her brother Pinky in Ontario and sister Mary in the United States. The family would look forward to her annual traditional Ukrainian Christmas dinners. She took pride in being able to cook for such a large gathering without any help. Cooking and playing Bingo were two of her favourite passions. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Private family interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their care, comfort and compassion.
