KAREN LEAFA STEINER Karen Leafa Steiner, beloved daughter of Brian Kenneth and June Leafa Steiner. Karen passed away suddenly in Calgary on October 20, 2001 at the age of 14. Words cant encompass the shock and sorrow her family and friends feel at this loss, or the width of the chasm that has suddenly opened up in our lives. Karen was such a good kid; smart, pretty, athletic, strong-willed and good natured, she was far and away the best of us. Well remember her as a loving, determined and imaginative young woman who left us far to soon. Karen loved her family, friends, sports and nail polish. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her close friends and cousins, Karen Kozlowski, Judy Guenette and Chris and Kelsey Schick; her grandmothers, Leafa Hanks and Elsie Steiner; her aunts and uncles, Glen and Susan Hanks, Lorne Hanks, Terry and Anna Hanks, Diane Hanks, Doug and Debbie Schick, Carolyn and Jack Edwards, Doris and Gerry Guenette, Rosemary and Todd Ermet; great-uncle, Clifford Hanks; her cousins, Earl Edwards, Keena, Robert and Samantha Basic, Jean-Paul, Shanon and Cayden Guenette, Sara and Trevor Ermet; and by friends, Zoey, Jill, Ashley, Jennifer, Matt, Steve and Amy, as well as her friends in Winnipeg; Amber, Katie and Kayla. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, William Steiner and Merv Hanks. Brian and June would like to give a special thanks to Tim and Cathy Day, Sheila Smith, family and friends for all their help and support. Memorial service will be held at Deer Park United Church, 77 Deer Point Rd., SE, Calgary, AB on Wednesday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held.
