Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARL DAVIS SLOAN (October 22, 1912 - October 23, 2001) Peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre, Carl Sloan began his journey on to the higher power, at the age of 89. Carl is predeceased by his parents; five sisters and one brother. His memory will live on and lovingly be remembered by three generations of nieces, nephews and multiple friends. Carl was born in Foxboro, Ontario, served in the Second World War and worked the majority of his career life as a commissioner. Carls strength in his life was his strong dedication to his spiritual belief and family he held with in his Eckankar religion. He was a High Initiate in Eck and served the majority of his life as an Eckist. He led a very full and independent life up to his mid 80s. He enjoyed the company of his family, friends and the spiritual peace he had within. Carl found fulfillment in his reading, spiritual writing and sharing of his poems. I AM SOUL In my soul, I am Free In my soul, I am Free To roam the cosmic seas With the Mahanta by my side. He will show me the way He will guide me through the worlds of duality To the land of Sat Nam In the golden-tongued wisdom. Carl D. Sloan We would like to express our sincere thanks to Carls friends in Eck who have supported him in so many ways, over the years. We also heartfully thank T6 at Deer Lodge Centre for their patience, compassionate care, comfort and friendship they have given to Carl over the last two years. A Celebration of Carl Sloans life will be held on Friday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. We know you are at peace, Uncle Carl.
