MARGHERITA (RITA) FRANCES DODDS (nee LAW) Rita passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2001. She was born on March 30, 1910 in Ireland, the daughter of Fred W. and Esther (Logan) Law and immigrated to Canada at the age of three. The family came directly to Winnipeg. Rita was always proud of being brought up in the North End of the city and attended Luxton and St. Johns schools. Rita worked at Eatons, where she met her beloved Tom and they were united in marriage in 1943. She worked to help the children in the Shriners Hospital through the Womens Shrine Auxiliary for many years and was a Past President of that organization. Rita was active for several decades in the Daughters of the Nile. She was a charter member when the Temple was formed in 1956, and also a Past Queen. She is survived by her beloved daughter-in-law Sharron and son Tom; sisters-in-law, Isabelle, Doris and Gladys; as well as several nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by her husband; sisters, Amy and Ethel; and her brothers, Fred, Gordon and Wilson. Ritas sister-in-law Isabelle Law; her good friend Connie Hickaway; and her nephew Gordon Law are acknowledged for all their help and kindness over the years. The kindness and dignity extended to Rita by the staff of Concordia Hospital is warmly appreciated. Cremation has taken place and according to Ritas wishes, there will be no service.
