Gerry was born in LaSalle, MB on August 5, 1920 and lived most of his life in St. Boniface. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Violet; children, Patricia (Roger) Turenne, Denis (Annette), Annette (Marcel) Nadon, Richard (Yvonne) of Kelowna, Margot McLeod of Calgary, Gail "Jackie" (Dale) Kantor, Guy (Denise) 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Raymonde Sym of Toronto; sisters-in-law, Olive and Marguerite Pelland; brother-in-law, Jean Mahe; a special niece, Carol "the Warden" Pelland who devoted a great deal of time to his care, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Gerry has gone on to join his parents, Damien and Mathilda; brothers, Emile and Joseph; sister, Henriette and especially his grandson, Ronald Pelland who passed away exactly two weeks before he did. He was a man of vision whose contributions are still recognized and being implemented by the industry today. He was also known for his longtime association with Pelland Catering and was one of the founders of Pic-a-Pop. He was never happier then when he was sitting behind the wheel of his car travelling across the country, be it for business or pleasure. A special thank you is extended to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care during his frequent stays over the past few years. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald St. in St. Boniface on Saturday, October 27.
