Her husband George and her sister Marion predeceased her. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Terry and Clark and their wives, Irene and Johan; her daughter Cindy and her partner Linda; her grandsons, Andrew (Leanne), Jamie, Rob (Jodi), Harris, Christopher (Erin), Graeme and Jason; her granddaughter Erin; her sisters, Kay and Vi; her brother Ted (Kay) and her many nephews and nieces. Mom was born on March 3, 1914 in Winnipeg as the eldest daughter in the Chiswell family. During most of her working career that she loved so much, she was Secretary to the Medical Director at the Misericordia Hospital. Her life was her family and her friends. She will be dearly missed by her many friends. She will be dearly missed by her many friends at Lions Place, in particular Sid, Mike and Nan. Following the example set by Mom, we do not want to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her being. We want to remember and rejoice in the many memories of this extraordinary lady and to celebrate her enthusiasm for life, her perpetual drive to continue and a determination that taught us we could do almost anything we wanted to if we put our minds to it. She touched each one of our lives in different ways that will be remembered forever. We have such lasting memories of her that she will never be gone. When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little but not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that we once shared Miss me but let me go I never wanted to be in pain Or watch those around me cry I wanted to close my eyes and feel peace I hope you will understand this please try Remember the laughs, the times together There were a few tears, too, I know Forget them and carry on. A service of remembrance to celebrate Evelyns life will be held on Monday, October 29 at 2:30 p.m. at Lions Place, 610 Portage Ave., in the auditorium on the second floor. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. WERESCHUK FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0929
