ESTHER BOND With her family at her side, Esther passed away quietly on Wednesday, October 24, 2001, at the age of 82 at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. Esther was predeceased by her loving husband Everett in February 2000; as well, she was predeceased by her mother Ruth and brother Earl. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her sons, Rod (Carol) and their children, Shayne (Tricia) Bond, Wade Bond and J. C. Bond; and Vern (Ann) Bond and their child, Kara Nacci (Tom) great-grandchildren, Hailey and Rhianna Bond; brother-in-law Rod Bond (Montana) sister-in-law Nell Bond; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Esther was born in Mulvihill, MB, on April 13, 1919. She moved to Winnipeg as a young girl and it was here that she met the love of her life, Everett. On October 15, 1941, Esther and Everett were married in Winnipeg. They spent some time in Halifax during the war and then returned to Winnipeg to raise their family on Lyle Street in St. James, where they made many lifelong friends. Esther and Everetts passion was Lake of the Woods where they enjoyed many years fishing, boating, bird watching and socializing with friends and family. She was well known for her design and dress making abilities. Her talented sewing skills were sought out by many fashion conscious people in Winnipeg. Esthers other passions in life included her family, curling, swimming, gardening, Scottish music and collecting mountains of fabric. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations in memory of Esther may be made to the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo St. N., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2N6. Memorial service for Esther will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow.
