VICTORIA MARY HUMISKI (nee OBERTON) 1921 - 2001 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Vicki, on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Jim of 60 years; her children, Gary (Donna), Joanne (Gary Stempnick), Doug (Karen) and her grandchildren, Krista, Sydney and Marlo. She also leaves one brother Frank and three sisters, Alma, Elizabeth and Emily; also many cherished relatives and friends. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joe, Albert and Henry. Mom was born in Fraserwood, MB, in 1921 and grew up in Fannystelle, MB. Later Vickis family farmed near Oakville, where she met and married Jim. Jim and Vicki moved to Winnipeg in the early 40s and settled permanently in East Kildonan where they raised their family. She worked at Eatons for over 30 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Als Church, a member of the C.W.L. and St. Judes Circle. She enjoyed making perogies at the church on Thursdays, walking her dogs, knitting and sewing. She also loved her time at Spruce Sands, picking berries and mushrooms in the woods. She had a charitable heart and often gave to the less privileged. Mom especially cherished the time spent with her family and her loving nature was an inspiration to us all. Her heart has stopped as we know it but it beats on in the lives of all of us. Prayers will be held on Sunday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m., at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 29 at 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Garden. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
