Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERTRAM EDWARD BESTECK (BERT) 1920 - 2001 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the Grace General Hospital on Saturday, October 27, 2001 at the age of 81 years. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lillian of 61 years, his son Wayne (Linda), his daughter Susan (Ray), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and sister-in-law Marg. Bert was predeceased by his son Glen on October 9, 2001. Bert was born and educated in Winnipeg, MB and after serving overseas in the military from 1940 to 1945 he worked for the Department of Education ending his career in 1983 as Chairman of the Public Schools Finance Board and Assistant Deputy Minister of Education. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr. in St. James. In lieu of flowers, donations in Berts memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3.
