JEAN GLUCHI (ZALUSKI) Peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2001 at Rosewood Lodge Stonewall, Jean Gluchi passed away with her family at her side. Jean was born May 11, 1918 in Komarno, MB, married Steve Gluchi January 28, 1939, and moved to the Good Hope District near Stonewall in 1949. Jean lived there until she became a resident of Rosewood Lodge in December, 2000. Surviving to mourn her loss are her four sons, Ted (Shirley), Ray (Jan), Allan (Connie), all of Stonewall, Randy (friend Karen) of Balmoral; and one daughter Grace Roy (John) of Bagot, MB; nine grandchildren, Rick (Lori), Doug (Karen), Sheryl Marchand (Adrian), Michael, Mark, Bryan, Blair, Kyle, and Tammy; four great-grandchildren, Melissa, Larisa, Liam, and Quinn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband Steve in 1983, son Edward in 1942, and daughter-in-law Lynda in 1990, as well as four brothers, Steve, Nick, Peter, Bill and one sister Nettie. Jean, lovingly known as Baba to everyone, loved gardening, watching wrestling, card playing, spending time with family and friends. Baba was well known within the community for her wonderful sense of humour and her great Ukrainian cooking. Prayer service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, on Monday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at The Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Komarno, Manitoba on Tuesday, October 30, at 10:30 a.m. The Pallbearers will be nephews Don Zaluski, Gordon Zaluski, and Norm Sedleski, and close neighbours Larry Schaeffer, Jack Bouskill and Don Kowalchuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of arrangements.
